This is a petrophile steppe species from Central
Asia and distal Eastern Europe with a relic totally isolated
population in Trascau Mountains, western Romania. We are surprised
that this species was not found yet in the xeric steppe grasslands
from the forest-steppe of the nearby region of the Transylvanian
Plain. Yet, we expect this to happen in the future.
Cheile Turzii natural reservation area, Trascau
Moutains, Cluj county, May 2008.
